Bios
Alice McKay is a theater technician and visual artist based in Manhattan. She primarily works in directing and stage management, though they have recently been digging into design. Some recent works include: Tech Lead for the Chain One Act Festival, Stage Manager for Fear & Wonder by Jason Tseng, Costume Designer for Stalin The Musical by Austin Olsen, Director for My Best Friend’s Fish by Kiley Gaddis, sound designer for The Atlantic Acting School’s productions of A Dolls House and The House Of Bernarda Alba, Director of Left Behind by Kiley Gaddis, Assistant Stage Manager for Applause Dance Company, and Event Manager for STEM From Dance’s 2024-2026 showcase. Alice has found a great home at The Chain, and has loved creating with all of the many people who come in and out of the festival!
Spencer Giles is a writer, director, producer and comedian based in New York. His previous works as writer and director in the Chain Theatre One Act Festival include Hope/Less and Trouble In Tunis. He also is a producer and additional book writer for STALIN: The Musical which can be seen in the festival in program #1. In addition to playwriting, he writes for the sketch comedy groups “That’s Our Show!” and “Alternative Medicine”, the latter of which can be seen in the upcoming Edinburgh Fringe Festival! Damien Moore is an actor, improviser and writer from Westborough Massachusetts and is thrilled to be returning to the chain one act festival! Previous credits include Duke (Voice Parts, The Tank Pride Fest) Wickham (Molly Goes Dancing, Chain One Act Festival) Murray (Grease My Chin, Under St Mark’s Theater) and Micah (Stigmata Martyr, New York Theater Festival) They can also be seen fooling around as a part of the twoprov act Tom Foolers Improv. Quinn Andrews is an actor and poet hailing from the Hudson Valley, NY. She received a BFA in theater performance from Hofstra University, where she also minored in Creative Writing and developed a passion for breathing depth and humanity into “oddball” characters as well as making classical works more accessible for modern audiences. Recent credits include Nothing Like Here (Valeria), The Iphigeniamachine (Chorus), and Trojan Women (Cassandra).
Gabby Macallister is a Brooklyn based actor, improviser, and stage manager. They are thrilled to be working with such an awesome cast AND crew. Some of their other credits include Matt & Ben (Ben), Non-Stop Comedy Hour (Ensemble), The Chain’s Mainstage Simpatico (ASM), and Playful Substance’s Passing and Failing in Paradise (SM). You can also find them improvising with their team Tom Foolers Improv or with their team at the Young Ethel’s Barprov Experiment! They cannot thank Spencer and Alice enough, and are so excited for this show!

Maggie Fern (Writer, Director, Producer) utilizes a hands-on, DIY approach to making theater accessible. She writes dark, existential stories that expose shared insecurities, asking the audience a blunt, “Why are we like this?” That ethos took center stage in December 2025 with the world premiere of Jumpin’ Jim at the Gene Frankel Theatre, a production that marked her stage directorial debut and one she wrote, directed, and physically built from the ground up. She is incredibly excited to have such a brilliant cast alongside her to bring this tragic world to life.
Eric Suben (Dennis): Eric’s recent roles include Dan in Six Feet and Omar in Judas Iscariot’s Day Off for the City Island Theatre Group; Edgar in Easy on the Coffee for the Westchester Collaborative Theatre; and Baron van Swieten in Amadeus at the Manor Club Theatre in Pelham, NY. In addition, he is active as a performer in commercials and industrial films. He is also a playwright, with productions staged by theaters in New York, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. Thanks to Maggie Fern for writing Last Nerve and the role of Dennis.
Amira Silver (Kathy): Amira is thrilled to make her stage debut as Kathy in Last Nerve. Her performance experience began with critically unsolicited living room productions, followed by a brief stint with the circus. She is grateful to be a part of bringing this production to life.
Ben Fern (Voice of Chrystie, Producer) never expected to find himself behind the scenes of a theatrical production. Thanks to being married to the playwright, he became the first-pass editor, a voice actor, and ultimately a producer for Jumpin’ Jim’s world premiere at the Gene Frankel Theatre. Go Maggie, and go Last Nerve!

Bios
Rob Lenihan (Playwright) was born and raised in Brooklyn. He is a reporter, screenwriter, blogger, and author of the novel Born Speaking Lies and the play Nite Owl. He is thrilled to be working with such fabulous collaborators in bringing Mercy Road to life.
Jerry Ferris (Director) has appeared as an actor in several Chain One Act Festivals including “Memoryville” by Philip Cioffari and “Father’s Day” by John Corins. He is honored to have been asked to direct Rob Lenihan’s play “Mercy Road” with such a wonderful and talented cast.
John Henry McMahon (Johnny) is happy to be performing at The Chain for the first time. Past credits include "Tristan and Isolde" (Governal) for The Fringe, Clueless (Billy O'Kiernan), Pirates of Penzance (a Pirate) and Sugar Bait (Fredy). Short films "A Box Came to Brooklyn" (Johnny) and "Based on a True Story" (Mr. Pringles). Studied with Maggie Flanigan, Bill Esper, Stephen M. Henderson. Thanks to Jerry, Rob and Eric for bringing me aboard.
Eric Diamond (Mitchell) was a modern dancer for over 30 years. He performed in New York and toured throughout Europe and the United States. He studied acting at the Atlantic Theatre Company and with Bill Roudebush. By audience vote, out of 70 plays on a short play festival/contest at the Secret Theatre, Eric won best director for “The World Is Lit by Lightning” by Kevin Brofsky. He is a proud member of Polaris North Theatre company.

Michaela Brocchetti / Actor (Tammie)
Michaela is a NYC-based actor. She is a proud member of Theatre 68 and recently performed in the company's 15th Annual One Act Festival as Alice in "Storc". She is grateful to be working on this special project thanks to Robert and Renee.
Chris Connolly / Actor (Rob)
Chris is a native New Yorker who has appeared in dozens of films, TV shows and plays. When he's not acting Chris is a journalist whose work has appeared in the New York Times, National Geographic, Conde Nast Traveler and other major publications.
Rory Kelsch / Actor (Sally)
Rory was most recently seen as Charlene in the web series Happy Hour Playground. She has also appeared on The Daily Show, and in various internet commercials. This summer, you can see her as Blanche in the film Bonzo Gonzo. Recent theatre credits include Napalm and Sequins (April), Nolan's Wake (Mary), and Memory's Kiss (Liz) all produced by Piper Theatre; and as American Gothic in Memoirs of a Painted Woman at the PIT. She lives in New Jersey with her husband and (technically) adult children.
Shane Nielsen / Actor (Glenn)
Shane is most often seen improvising at The Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) with its flagship show ASSSSCAT 3000 and The Stepfathers. Other teams include: Rumpleteaser Musical Improv, The Prophecy, and Raaaatscraps at Caveat Theatre. He was featured in Out/Play's 2025 and 2026 Summer Short Play Festival. In April, he originated the role of Basileus in Phryne: Queen of Athens at Stag & Lion Theatre. He was also an actor/dancer with the performance art group Your Faithful Reader in their 2025 production of When The Veil Is Thin.
Renée Hewitt / Director
In New York Renée directed Stay Tuned and Fresh Out The Nursery for Theater 68. On the West Coast, Les Miserables and Spamalot; choreographed Jekyll and Hyde; been Director and Acting instructor for a Children’s Conservatory for 2 years and the Vocal Instructor for 7 years. She’s currently a dialect coach for Studio Mallory. Renée’s voiceover credits include: Ivy in Soulcalibur II and Epona Rhi in Mechwarrior III. As an over 30 year veteran of the stage, she’s performed in such roles as: Annie Sullivan/Miracle Worker, Sarah Bernhardt/Bernhardt/Hamlet and Helen Bechdel/Fun Home. (ReneeJHewitt.com)
Robert Strand / Writer & Producer
Robert is an actor, writer, filmmaker, and environmental advocate, and the founder of the World Water Film Festival. His debut short Water You Talking About sparked a global nonprofit now active in 10 countries and participating in the 2026 UN Water Conference. A member of Theatre 68’s NY Chapter, he makes his playwriting debut with The Sparkle in the Grey at the Chain Theatre One‑Act Festival 2026. His credits include the 2025 New York Theater Festival, Theatre 68’s One‑Act Festival, and TV/film work in American Greed, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Zero Day, and Pinball.He also performs standup at NY Comedy Club and Gotham Comedy Club and competes in Punderdome as Kenny Dewitt.
Max Med / Production Assistant
Max is a NYC based actor, writer, photographer, and proud member of Theatre 68. After a career in education, Max shifted into acting, writing, and directing, with recent credits including playing Bob in “Storc” and assistant‑directing “Fresh Out the Nursery” for Theatre 68's 2026 One‑Act Festival.
