SYNOPSIS

After a failed date, Gloria is kidnapped and taken to a clandestine human auction where wealthy men bid on their victims. As she awaits her fate, memories of a childhood shaped by cockfights reveal that survival has always demanded unthinkable choices.

Bios

Noelia Flores (PLAYWRIGHT and Actress, GLORIA)  is a Peruvian actress, playwright, and theater maker based in New York City. Her work examines migration, memory, colonialism, and systems of power through the experiences of Latin American women. She is the author of Somewhere There Are Roosters, IRMA, Who Awaits the Queen of Bolero?, and 1992, with productions in Peru and New York. As an actress, she received the TALIA New York Award for Best Monologue Performance and won the XV International Monologue Festival "Monologando Ando" at Teatro Círculo. Her recent credits include Diente de León (IAITI Theater), LLONTOP, DO NOT TURN OFF MY TELENOVELA, and Shooting Zombies. An AMDA alumna, she also holds a cum laude degree in Communications from Universidad de Lima and has been recognized by Peru's Ministry of Culture and IDEA Internacional for her artistic and community work.

Josafat Concepción (AUCTIONEER) is a New York City–based actor, filmmaker, and theater maker from the Canary Islands. Recent stage credits include Por Toda Eternidad by Emiliano López, directed by Pablo Jesús Gatto and premiered at Fuerza Fest, for which he received a TALIA Award for Outstanding Actor in a Period Play; The Space We Share, directed by Catalina Beltrán and presented by People's Theatre Project and Working Theater at the Whitney Museum of American Art; Mirada by Oscar Martínez, directed by Germán Jaramillo; and Intentions, written and directed by Joe Quattro at The Tank.
