Announcing the world premiere production of Jamison Reeves’ IT’S NOT ME / IT’S NOT ME BACKSTAGE, directed by C.G. Reeves. IT’S NOT ME / IT’S NOT ME BACKSTAGE will play a two-week limited engagement at Chain Theatre (312 W. 36th Street, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10018. In 1999, in a black-box theater in L.A., five actors perform a drama about friendship. But what happens backstage when they shed their characters? In this innovative production, which breaks a different kind of fourth wall, the audience members find out. Half of them, in turn, watch the play while the other half “spy” on the actors when they’re backstage, where they reveal their own personal dramas—along with their challenging, consuming love of theater.
The production stars Michele Baldwin as Steph/Joi, James Edward Becton* as Eric/Tom, Chris Bethune as Homeless Man/Dave, Germar Terrell Gardner as Scott/Alan and Cheridan Westmoreland as Tina/Sarah.
