For the last 15+ years, the Chain Theatre has helped under-served artists from all five boroughs of New York City through our one-act festivals, mainstage productions, play writing lab, film festivals, comedy events and affordable theatre rentals.
Chain has provided a safe space for artists from all walks of life to call home.
2026 Season
This season will feature one-act festivals presenting 180 plays, 2 mainstage productions, 1 play lab, 1 film festival and monthly comedy events.
In addition, our rental program, Factory Series at The Chain, will continue to provide affordable theatre space for performing artists, furthering our support for emerging artists.

We are a home that fosters those once-in-a-generation playwrights whose work stands the test of time; a space where established and emerging artists, as diverse as NYC's communities, collaborate side by side learning and inspiring one another.
