Bios

Jeff Dylan Garrett (PLAYWRIGHT & DIRECTOR) is an award-winning actor and writer, based in New York City. This is his first time directing a play. Apologies to everyone. 

Sevin Ceviker* (HELENA) is a Turkish actor, dancer, and choreographer. Originally from Istanbul, she has enjoyed an extensive career as a professional dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company, among others, and co-founded FJK Dance. She has performed in iconic venues across the globe - from the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma to the Kennedy Center. Sevin’s work as a choreographer includes multiple off-Broadway shows, along with pieces for TARTE and the Nakanishi Ballet in Tokyo. As an actor, she has appeared in multiple films and television series, while continuing to perform in plays and musicals.

Ned Read* (LUCAS) is a New York City-based actor, having relocated recently after 35 years in Washington, DC. His stage credits in DC include Folger Theatre, Shakespeare Theatre, Studio Theatre, 4615 Theatre, Arcturus Theater, and the Capital Fringe Festival. On-camera credits include independent films, various industrials, and television series. Ned completed the Studio Acting Conservatory (DC) core curriculum and advanced classes under master teacher Joy Zinoman, and has continued training at The Barrow Group and T. Schreiber Studio in NYC.

Tarik Kdiry (MARVIN) is a Moroccan-American engineer-turned-actor. Hailing from New Jersey, his draw to the stage and screen led him to study at HB Studio in the West Village, focusing on the Uta Hagen technique. He is the Master of Ceremonies for The Arabish Comedy Show, a recurring live improv and sketch comedy series, presented in both Arabic and English. Recently, he played the role of Marwan in Sad Magic Sins' production of Down Once More.

Hell's Kitchen, 1948

Synopsis

New York City.  1948.  A self-made millionaire has fathered a child with a young girl.  He wants the baby to come live with him and his wife.

Bios

David Loughlin (Playwright) is an award-winning playwright whose plays  have been produced from New York to Florida to California. Recently, his  Noir-Thriller screenplay, TESS, was a Finalist in The Los Angeles International  Screenplay Awards. He lives in Brooklyn, New York. 

Laura Varoscak (Director)is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts Dramatic  Writing Program, where she received the Playwriting Achievement Award. Her work  has been presented in readings, workshops, and productions across New York City,  and she is a former member of the Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre’s Writer’s Collective.  She studied directing with Carey Perloff and is pleased to be collaborating with David  again on this one-act. 

John L Payne (Actor, CHARLIE) is a New York native (born not far from Hell’s Kitchen!!) who has studied at HB Studios with Michael Beckett, Austin Pendleton, and Jessica Heckt. He takes Shakespeare classes with Geoffrey Owens. Favorite roles are Kent in KING LEAR, Jim Taney in AMERICAN ROT (directed by Estelle Parsons).  Thanks to Jill for her support. 

Zoe Anastassiou (Actor, PATTI) is a Greek-Aussie-British theatre/TV/ϐilm/voiceover  actress. Zoe was last seen performing on stage as Diogeneia in William Lyon’s One  Woman and Her Dog at TNC and can next be seen in another of Lyon’s originals  Troubled Love in London at the Etcetera Theatre in March. She can currently be seen  in Durga Entertainment’s newly re-released Aidan Quinn & Jimi Mistry feature ϐilm  Festival of Lights on YouTube. To ϐind out more please visit www.zoeanastassiou.com

Ben and Mara return home from a date night to find their babysitter has made herself comfortable. Too comfortable.

Bios

Christopher Ming Ryan (PLAYWRIGHT) Chris began his career as a stand up-comic while managing the drama bookshop, Applause. He then segued to television production working on Election '92 on Comedy Central (a precursor to The Daily Show), Where in the World in Carmen Sandiego?, and PBS' Nature series in various behind-the-scene roles. Recently, he has produced, directed and edited 12 minidocs about NYC characters and establishments that have come and gone. These films have appeared on theatlantic.com, viewing.nyc, shown at the Museum of the City of New York and New Plaza Cinema, and received awards from The Chain Film Festival, Artslope Film Festival, Inwood Film Festival, and the Bucks Fever Film Festival. He is a partner in the video marketing company Wheelhouse Communications, now in its 19th year. This is his first play. 

Julian Shatkin (DIRECTOR) Julian Shatkin is an Actor, director and playwright from New York City. Julian graduated from Laguardia High School and then The Royal Conservatoire Of Scotland. Julian’s film work includes, Like Sunday Like Rain (opposite Leighton Meester, Debra Messing,Billie Joe Armstrong), Chosen (opposite Harvey Keitel), Lullaby, and Ticky Tacky (opposite Oscar Isaac), as well as on television, and made his Off-Broadway debut in Ashes & Ink (opposite Kathryn Erbe). He made his directing debut at the Queen’s Short Play Festival, and with the short film, Vanity Sonata, which showcased at the Big Apple Film Festival."

Tabitha Davidson (PRODUCER) Tabitha Davidson is an emerging NYC-based stage manager and director. She recently graduated from Wesleyan University with a BA in Government and Theater with high honors (2025) Recent credits include Love Force at Under the Radar Festival, and ESTATE with the New York Theater Festival. Next Up: Majestic 7 at Black Spectrum Theater Company. Tabitha draws inspiration from the political world around us, and explores how we cope via the creation and enjoyment of theater.

Nick Pearl (BEN) Nick Pearl is excited to be making his Chain Theatre debut! An actor/writer/comedian from New York, Nick has performed sketch and improv comedy in NYC and around the country for the last 10+ years. You can catch him in the back of bars with his improv team, The ‘96 Bulls, or on the big screen in The Alpaca Connection, coming up at this year’s New York Comedy Film Festival.

Jenna Purcell (MARA) Jenna Purcell is a performing artist based in Brooklyn. She has performed professionally with Shakespeare Santa Cruz, Donofrio Dance Company, ChrisMastersDance, Andrew Schneider, Lundahl & Seitl, The David Perlow Studio, OddKnock Productions, and Off-Center/Denver Center for the Performing Arts, among others. She currently collaborates with Third Rail Projects; past productions include Then She Fell (Alice, Nurse MaryAnn, Red Queen, Rehearsal Director), True Love Forever, and Sweet & Lucky: Echo. She was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and holds a B.A. in Modern Literature from UC Santa Cruz.
