Synopsis: "Intestinal Pulchritude: A Gut-Cleansing Love Tale" takes place in a nondescript apartment in the near future. Sal (short for Salvador) is an android undergoing an abdominal cleansing by his maker and keeper, Cal (short for Calvin). Throughout the process, Sal begins to exhibit evidence of sentience and, consequently, a thirst for “liberation.” All the while, Cal is becoming increasingly aware of, and emotionally torn, by this striking reality.
Douglas DuBrin (Playwright) has been a writer and educator for countless moons; he’s a Full Member of the Dramatists Guild; he’s been produced in various venues and cities (including multiple shows at the off-Broadway MITF); his writings have appeared in several publications (such as the PBS Online NewsHour); he has a six-performance run at the IndyFringe Festival in August; he will be a fully-funded playwright resident in August at the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild and a playwright fellow in November at the Hambridge Center in Georgia; he’s simply elated to have a work staged at the Chain Theatre for the first time; he lives in Evanston, IL, is from New York, and has four irrepressible kids.
Anthony Logan Cole (Director) specializes in creating immersive experiences in both theatre and nightlife. He is currently the Co-Creator and Theatrical Director of CIRQUE LE SWING with ABCirque and Quintin Harris.As a theatrical director has worked on the acclaimed immersive productions ROCK OF AGES, JAWS-THE MUSICAL (NYC Fringe), THE HIDDEN ONES (Off-Broadway), THE SEANCE AT MORRIS-JUMEL (Off-Broadway), CIRQUE DE LANCEY (The Delancey), THE CRAVEN (Off-West End), KITTY'S BURLESQUE SUPPER CLUB, and CURIOSITIES (Off-Broadway). He served as Associate Director on ROCK OF AGES, LES MISERABLES, and Immersive Director on THE UNINVITED: AWAKENING (Off-Broadway). He has created shows for venues like Etiquette Nightclub at Sony Hall, Hustler Club, Primal Fusion at Sapphire 39, The Delancey, The Duplex, and 54 Below. IG-alcinnyc
Jose Yantin Jr (Calvin) is a Chicago Based Actor Born and raised in Chicago IL, Jose studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles California and studied with John Markland at the Markland Studio in Los Angeles California. Theatre credits: THE WINTERS TALE (u/s Florizel, Autolycus), THE OUTSIDERS (Sodapop Curtis), THE TAMING OF THE SHREW (Lucentio), and PARAGON SPRINGS (Lars Hovstad). Alison Zhang (Salvador) is a New Zealand actor based in New York City. She is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts New York, where her theatre credits include Eurydice in POLAROID STORIES and Antonio in THE TEMPEST. She recently produced the staged preview of MAYONNAISE RIZADAS AND GATORADE at La MaMa Galleria, following a sold-out first run. Alison is thrilled to be performing the show at both the Chain Theatre Festival and IndyFringe Festival.

Synopsis: It’s the graveyard shift at a diner in the middle of nowhere, and two waitresses kill time by gossiping about their not-so-new coworker who keeps leaving with customers. As the night unfolds, her story slowly surfaces—and with it, we learn the quiet weight that she carries.
Selina Piros- Selina Piros is the writer of this piece and is currently a junior at NYU Tisch Drama. She’s an actor first but has always loved to write (having co-written and directed a play, Starting Yesterday in her senior year of high school) so the opportunity for her work to be showcased like this is very special to her. Selina is so proud of everyone apart of the team for working through such a fast process! Selina would not be here without her parents, her sister (who is also the stage manager) and her dogs, to whom she is endlessly grateful. Hope you enjoy the show!
Juliette Markman- Juliette Markman (director) is an NYC-based director, actor, and theatre-maker. She is currently receiving her undergraduate training at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, studying directing at Playwrights Horizons Theatre School with an additional minor in producing. She has an interest in immersing others in universal truths found in youthful stories as reflected in recent works including Swiss Chalet (Dir./Playwright, SoHo Playhouse), The Newlywed Game (Dir./Playwright, Playwrights Downtown), Romeo and Juliet (AD., Shakespeare on the Sound), Alice by Heart (Dir., Theater for the New City)! Aryana Piros- Aryana is so excited to be stage managing The Graveyard Shift with this wonderful cast and team! She is about to graduate from NYU Tisch School Of The Arts studying theatre production and design with focuses in stage management and scenic design. Meggy Doni- Meggy Doni (Penny) is an actress from Washington, D.C., currently based in New York City. She is a third-year student at NYU Tisch Drama. She recently played Vershinin in the Meisner Studio’s production of Moscow, Moscow, Moscow, Moscow, Moscow, Moscow. Charles Budan- Charles Thomas Budan is an Iowa-born and New York-based actor. His New York credits include: The Assemblywomen (Stella Adler Center for the Arts), Trifles (The American Classics Theatre) and Night Crew (Bridge Productions). Recently, he made his directorial debut with the short film The Last Punk in the Palladium now streaming on Youtube. In his spare time he enjoys watching documentaries, and playing the harmonica.
