Charles Mayhew Miller (They/Them) is a queer artist residing in NYC! Recent credits include: Cabaret (Barrington Stage Company), A Map To Nowhere (Soho Rep), and Mamma Mia (Lake Tahoe Shakespeare). Keyana Hemphill (she/her) is a New York-based actor and stage manager. She is incredibly grateful to be back at The Chain Theater with this dream team! Most recently, she ASM’d nichi douglas’ pray at Ars Nova Theater. BFA: NYU Tisch ‘17. PLAYWRIGHT:

Queen-Tiye Akamefula (she/her) is a black/filipino Actor/Playwright based in Brooklyn. Originally from Brookline, Massachusetts, she graduated from NYU: Tisch in 2019 after studying at the Playwrights Horizons Theater School and the Experimental Theater Wing. She’s had the pleasure of working with theaters such as Ars Nova, Joe’s Pub, The Oberon @ ART, Here Arts Center, JACK, and others.  Her one woman show, “NIGHTSWIMMING”, was previously a part of Ars Nova ANTFest. She recently won an award for her play, FETTUCCINE, at All Out Arts  “Fresh Fruit Festival”. Thank you to my beautiful team, and all those who I love. 

DIRECTOR:

Ava Elizabeth Novak is a live performance and filmmaker dedicated to creating images that pull together black spiritual epistemology with mundane afro-futurism in the convergence of the now. They believe time is not a line but a closed shape and seek to explore tensions between tradition and generational trauma. Amanda Cannon (Jessica) holds a BA in Theatre from Southern Arkansas University. Credits include “Medea” (Chorus), “The Merry Wives of Windsor” (Mistress Page), “Six Degrees of Separation” (Tess), “Lend Me a Tenor” (Maria), and “Abdication!” (Sophia, Lady in Red). She is also a member of Wednesday Repertory Company, which focuses on creating and producing original work.

Amy Losi (Playwright/Marian) is an actor, playwright, director, and member of the Dramatists Guild. Her plays have been accepted into fourteen festivals, winning awards for Best Costumes, Best Actress, Excellence in Directing, Best Ensemble, and the Spirit of the Hartford Fringe Festival. Amy won “Best Female Screenwriter” and “Best Female Centre Film” for the filmed version of her play, “No Fall My Hand.” She has had two full-length plays produced at Theater for the New City (“Verse DiVerse,” 2022) and American Theatre of Actors (“To Feed the Roses,” 2023). As an actor, Amy has appeared in nearly ninety plays, as well as the Broadway Comedy Club, commercials, film, and TV.  www.amylosi.net/

Laurie Rae Waugh (Director/Rose) has been working as a theatre artist in NY since 1980 and as a Director since 2001. Laurie has received the ATA Award for Best Dramatic Director for “Mirrors,” ATA Best Director Award, Drama, for “A Spanish Harlem Story,” and a Jean Dalrymple Best Director Award for “Code Name Daniel,” all from American Theatre of Actors. Laurie was nominated for Outstanding Director (Short Subjects) for “ELLEN and TROY and ELOISE” from The Midtown International Theatre Festival. She has also worked with Ripple Effect Artists, Legacy Stage Ensemble, EndTime Productions, TSI/Playtime Series, and VertaMirandance.
