Synopsis:

The day has finally arrived.  First Daughter is leaving the nest.  She is full of doubt.  When she admits to her mother, father, and sister that they never gave her the support or care she needed, they respond in a way that motivates her to take charge.

BIOS:

COLLEEN COSGROVE* (MOTHER) is glad to be back at The Chain. Her short film Fun with Nan: Yuppie Go Home screened at the 2019 Chain NYC Film Festival. (Check Nan out on YouTube.) Her one-act The Stoop played in The Unchained Theatre Festival of 2014. She also appeared onstage in Lynda Crawford's A Procession of Clouds, a finalist in the 2013 Unchained Festival. ANWEN DARCY* (FIRST DAUGHTER) has played Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Beatrice on Much Ado About Nothing (NYT Critics Pick) and Mercutio (NYIT Nomination) in Romeo and Juliet with Shakespeare at Bryant Park. Other work includes the world premiere of Hindsight (Drilling Company) and regional premiere of Henry Darger Is (Theatre for a New City) Regional credits include PICT Theatre’s House and Garden (Sally Platt) and An Ideal Husband (Mabel), and Monomoy Theatre’s You Can’t Take it with You (Alice Sycamore) and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Hermia). DAVID MARANTZ* (FATHER) has been performing and directing Shakespeare along with many new original works with The Drilling Company Theatre since 2002, both in the LES parking lot and in Bryant Park. Roles include Malvolio and Sir Toby Belch (Twelfth Night), Mercutio (Romeo and Juliet), Falstaff (Merry Wives of Windsor), Shylock (Merchant of Venice), Bottom (Midsummer Night’s Dream), and Iago (Othello). He directed another production of Romeo and Juliet for The Drilling Company in Bryant Park. Recently had his 3.4 seconds of excitement on the season premiere of the reboot of the OG Law & Order. He’s in a couple of fun Webseries: The Conspiracy Theorists and Off Off on YouTube. DOMENICK V. DANZA* (PLAYWRIGHT/DIRECTOR) teaches Drama with the NYC Department of Education. Before that he was Director of Education at Chicago Dramatists, The Cleveland Play House, and Virginia Stage Company. He studied playwriting at Chicago Dramatists, Primary Stages, The Barrow Group, and holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College. His plays have been a part of Chicago Dramatists Ten-Minute Workshops, Circle Theater’s New Works Festivals, The Second City Training Center, and Voice Theatre’s 10-Minute Play Festival. His short works have been published in Canyon Voices, Crawdad, Goddard College’s Pitkin Review, and Dramatic Publishing’s 35 in 10, and his play I Am Macbeth is available through Next Stage Press. Synopsis: The time is always. The Place is The Operating Theatre of The American Think Tank. Dr. I.M. White, a PhD in Cultural Anthropology, has been tasked with transforming a Native American, who through an anthropological miracle, has gone untouched by modern civilization since before Columbus discovered America. Dr. I.M. White attempts to change him from head to toe and assimilate him into modern society. This satirical/fantastical story is executed through text, song, percussion, and movement.

Jill Melanie Wirth* is an actress/singer/writer who has worked in theatre, film, tv, concerts, commercials, and voice-overs in NY, Chicago, LA, and London. Jill has performed at such prestigious venues as Lincoln Center, Playwrights Horizons, Carnegie Hall, BAM, Vineyard Theatre, Westport Country Playhouse, La Mama, NYMF, and 92Y. David Wirth appeared in The Morningside Players productions of A Month in the Country, Althea: She Went to Hell and The Passion of Dracula. Christina DiMare (she/her) is a recent graduate from Syracuse University’s BFA Acting program. She has performed regionally in Massachusetts and New York. In addition to performing, Christina has served as an assistant director and script assistant for the development of two musicals where she discovered her passion for new work. Chloe Rose Solomon (they/them) is so excited to help bring new work to life at The Chain Theatre continuing the pattern of new and in development projects they have been lucky enough to participate in over the last few years. Chloe holds a degree in musical theater from The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts and is a current company member with EPIC Players, a neuro-diverse theater company in NYC.
