Synopsis
After an unpleasant experience with online dating, Scotty decides to stick to the boyfriends he makes up in his head. Max obsesses over possibilities and never gets past a third date, so decides to go focus on grad school. What will it take for these two men to get out of their heads and find a common ground for companionship?

JOHN GAZZALE* (MAX) Off-Broadway credits include Raft of the Medusa (Cherry Lane Theatre), Dog Day Afternoon(Theatre Row), Spring Storm (St. Clements), and June Again (Ensemble Studio Theatre). He is the winner of Best One-Man Show at the United Solo Festival for Under the Rainbow. John also produced the award-winning short films Nuclear Knack Knacks and Bande de Jeunes. DAVID MICHAEL KIRBY / DMK(SCOTTY) is an actor, singer, director, and writer, and a graduate of the Atlantic Theater Company conservatory program. His play Ephemory Lane premiered at New Ambassadors Theatre Company’s Blurring Boundaries Festival in 2021. New York stage credits include A Little Princess (U.S. premiere), The Spoon River Project (NYC premiere), and Carnival Round the Central Figure (NYC premiere). Film credits include Zero Issue, WARFIELD, and The Lion’s Den. He also appeared in the award-winning web series Mythos. DOMENICK V. DANZA (PLAYWRIGHT/DIRECTOR) is a playwright and a Mentor with the Arthur Miller Foundation. He taught Drama with the NYC DOE for ten years. He was Director of Education at Chicago Dramatists, The Cleveland Play House, and Virginia Stage Company. He earned his MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College. His plays have been a part of several Chain Theatre One-Act Festivals, NY Theatre Festival, and Chelsea Rep. His short works have been published in Canyon Voices, Crawdad, Goddard College’s Pitkin Review, and Dramatic Publishing’s 35 in 10. COLLEEN COSGROVE (ASSISTANT DIRECTOR) is an actor, playwright, and writer. Thanks to Domenick Danza this is her first opportunity to fill the role of Assistant Director. As an actor she has appeared in multiple one-act festivals at The Chain, including performing in her own piece Poke Along the Ohio as well in three of Domenick’s one-acts, Grandma’s Memory, Purgatory, and Exit...Stage Right. As a playwright, she penned and produced The Stoop, which was part of The Chain’s Unchained Theatre Festival. Her first Unchained Theatre Festival performance was in Lynda Crawford’s A Procession of Clouds. Kyle C. Mumford (Playwright)
A filmmaker/playwright, Kyle attended the School of Visual Arts, where his thesis film, HIS NAKED MIND, won Kyle the award for Best Director at SVA. Kyle has worked in editorial and locations departments for film & TV, and later became an assistant for writer/director Tom Gormican. His short films have screened at Palm Springs ShortFest, Florida FilmFest, and many others. His screenplays have placed seven times at Austin Film Festival and twice as a 2nd rounder in the Sundance Labs. In 2021, Kyle was accepted into the Actors Studio Playwright and Directors Unit. His plays, SHRIMP PUDDING, HANGMEN, and CONTINENTAL DIVIDE premiered at the Chain Theatre One-Act Fest in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Mike Keller (Director)
Mike Keller is an actor/director, who recently directed American, Italian by Tony Pennino (Chain Theater); The Pitch by Tom Alper (Actors Temple); as well as The Legend of Sleepy Hollow in West Virginia’s state theater, Greenbrier Valley. Mike also directed Deadly Sins & Other Tales, by acclaimed playwright Lyle Kessler, at The Chain. Other NYC directing highlights include The Grade, and Drawing The Line, both by Seth Freeman, and a reading of Chazz Palminteri’s play The Bench at the Actor’s Studio. Mike has appeared in over 40 different film and television projects. He is a director member in the Actors Studio Playwright & Directors Unit, and an MFA graduate of the New School for Drama. He recently appeared onstage as “Sonny” in A Bronx Tale at The Rev; as “Captain Brackett” in South Pacific; “Gyp" in Jersey Boys, and as “Cliff” in William Mastrosimone’s The Woolgatherer.

Joey Welsh (Cast - “Lead Actor”)
Joey Welsh is a New York City-based actor, writer, and comedian originally from Vienna, Virginia. He has been lucky enough to perform in a variety of off-broadway productions, ranging from Tennessee Williams one-acts to sketch comedy with the Upright Citizens Brigade. Most recently, Joey has enjoying performing readings of new works at the Actor's Studio Playwright/Directors Unit and performing with UCB's weekend sketch team ASSSSKETCH. Joey can be see on screen across Keke Palmer (Android), Kevin Hart (DraftKings), and Emmy Rossum (Furious, Hulu)!
Elizabeth Bays (Cast - “Stage Manager”)
Elizabeth Bays is a New York–based actor, burlesque artist, producer, filmmaker, and playwright who likes to keep busy. Acting credits include Simpatico (Off-Broadway), Angelina Ballerina the Musical (Off-Broadway/National Tour), John Patrick Shanley’s Banshee(NY Premiere), and The Tower (HERE Arts Center). Her short film Wooly Bully, which she helped create, produce, and starred in opposite Kathryn Grody, won Best Narrative Short at Fencesitter Film Festival 2026 and Best Drama and Best Long Short at the Hang on to Your Shorts Film Festival 2026. Elizabeth also performs with Hotsy Totsy Burlesque (BroadwayWorld’s Best Burlesque in NYC) as “Bitsy” at The Slipper Room, and recently opened the 2025 Reykjavík Fringe Festival with ForbHIDDEN People: An Elven Burlesque. The play went on to enjoy a limited Off-Broadway run at the Gene Frankel Theatre later that same year. LESLIE LYNN MEEKER (Kay)has enjoyed working professionally in NYC and regionally for the past 4 decades. She has portrayed such notable real-life figures as Coco Chanel, Carson McCullers and Joyce Rumsfeld. Recently she performed Mary Tyrone in an excerpt from O'Neill's Long Day's Journey Into Night for the AMAZON TV series Mr.and Mrs. Smith, which filmed onstage at the historic Cherry Lane Theatre in Greenwich Village. RICK HAMILTON (Director) is the Managing Director of the Chain Theatre, and an award-winning filmmaker whose short films, including “Seeing Glory” and “Choices” have screened around the world. LUISA TANNO (Playwright) is a playwright, theatre-maker, and teacher of joyful dance classes. Recent credits include her short play A Doorway Parable in Hudson Classical Theater Company's Writers-A-Go-Go Festival (NYC, 2026), her short play Rain Date in Theatre Artists Workshop’s Festival of New Works, which she also directed (CT, 2025), and her one-act Potholes at Chain Theatre (NYC, 2025) and Play with Your Food (CT, 2023), Luisaholds a BFA in Musical Theatre from the New School and serves on the Board of Directors for Theatre Artists Workshop. She believes that art makes a difference, and so do you.
